About the Licorice Allsorts

Drawing from the nickname for the clarinet - the "licorice stick" - and the fact that they play "all sorts" of music, The Licorice Allsorts have been delighting audiences of all ages with entertaining and informative programs since 1980.

The Licorice Allsorts Clarinet Quartet presents three delightfully engaging and interactive programs, each specially designed to take the audience on a mesmerizing journey of storytelling and music: The Three Billy Goats Gruff, a beloved children’s classic brought to life with a musical adaptation by English composer Paul Harvey. The Three Musical Pigs and the Wolf - Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven are three little music-loving pigs. Although the sneaky wolf Hugo tries very hard to catch them, he is no match for the pigs' speed and intelligence. However, there is a happy ending and of course, music plays a key role in that! And their newest program, “Spring into spring” with stories, song, music and dance to welcome back the warm weather.

These fun and interactive concerts feature a performance, an explanation of instruments performed, interactive time with students, and an introduction to “the greats” Bach, Beethoven, Mozart as well as many more! Each performance lasts approximately 40 minutes and are suitable for grades JK, SK and primary. The Children will have so much fun hearing familiar stories – they won’t even notice that they are learning at the same time!
